The Desjardins Group Retirement Committee (DGRC) delegates its authority over most of the pension fund's management and monitoring of assets to its Investment Management Committee.
It is the Investment Management Committee's responsibility to recommend an investment policy to the DGRC and ensure that the policy is followed, enforced and reviewed. The Investment Management Committee selects different investment vehicles, awards mandates to portfolio managers and ensures that each investment meets expectations.
The Investment Management Committee is made up of 9 members appointed by the DGRC for their skills and expertise. Specific areas of expertise include investment, finance, law and risk management. It is the DGRC's role to appoint a chair and secretary.
